The qualification phase for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has officially concluded with Sweden securing one of the final available spots. The expanded tournament, set to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will feature 48 teams for the first time in World Cup history. Sweden’s qualification marks their return to football’s biggest stage after missing the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The Nordic nation joins the other qualified teams as they prepare for what promises to be the most inclusive and geographically diverse World Cup ever organized.
